Our commercial fencing client here is The Briars Care Home located on the Isle of Wight. They are part of the Greensleeves Group. They wanted to open up the care home’s garden making it more accessible to the residents. Especially during Spring and Summer months, so that they had more opportunities to enjoy the outdoors.
Commercial Fencing: Privacy and Security
Privacy and security was an important factor. There was a need for screening the gardens from the busy street outside because of the potential risk to residents.
The care home is on a corner with the main road leading into Sandown to the front. To the side is an access road leading to the local primary school. Parents and pupils pass the home twice a day in the morning and afternoon.
ColourFence provided a Green 1.8 metre high metal fence installed behind a perimeter Flint Stone wall with Flat Post Caps. Entrance to the garden is via the terrace doors from the care home or via 1.2 metre wide metal gate that provides important easy access for wheelchair residents. As the entrance to the garden is next to the main entrance of the care home and accessible by the general public, the gate was fitted with De Luxe lock which allows the gate to be secured or opened from either side of the gate providing additional security.
Part of the garden is behind the summer house. It has been closed off for the maintenance team for safe storage of garden materials and equipment. Access is gained by 1.2 metre wide ColourGate metal gate secured by De Luxe lock. This allows for easy movement of garden equipment and materials to and from the garden.
Low maintenance
